January 26, 2011.......WOW! How the Time has flown by!!!!
Just a whirlwind of activity!! Lots of fun, food and laughter!!! Christmas with John and Carol and their son Matt wife Candy and 3 kids...Callie-Pippen-Ian. Had a wonderful Sunday Brunch at Chateau Suzanne with John and Carol along with sister Pam and husband Greg, who came to church with us to hear/see Matt and John share the church service duties together as a father/son team....so neat!!
Dec 31 New Years Eve....supper with son Terry, wife Nancy along with Annie and Ashley and John and Carol in Tampa...and then Jan 1 we headed down to St John Virgin Islands....home away from home. I cried when we dropped Peejoe off with the dog sitter Amber. I cried when we finished setting up the tent in the dark. I cried when I saw all the extended workers/family/friends that we made over the years. Just so happy to be back to the island....the land of sunshine, warmth, wild donkeys, tree rats, blue blue waters. Just an emotional little devil I am. We enjoyed the company of having our friends Tom and Jane and Russ and Chris and Don and Lou there...just like old times. Loved being able to hang by the opposite end of the beach...hang out with the “cottage people”...where there was lots of shade and great views of the blue blue waters. Had pizza nite for Ned's birthday with 4 other couples....had pizza delivered to the campground....5 pizza minimum. Had Sunday Brunch at Miss Lucy's where we discovered the giant tree that we used to sit under eating our brunch lunch was blown down during Hurricane Otto. Went to Vie's Snack Shack for her great garlic chicken and conch fritters and then did the fantastic Full Moon Hike up Rams Head!!! YES!!!! We made it!! A little pluggin...taking mini breaks..but we made it!!! All the way to the top to see the gorgeous full moon in its glory!! Delicious meals at our favorite restaurant in downtown Cruz Bay...The Lime Inn...ate there 2 times. :) And then we had the great privilege of staying at the Weston (yes...that beautiful expensive place!!!) in a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom villa!!! Hot showers...air conditioning..tv..lots of ice..plush towels and comfy bed!! Thanks Tom and Jane for sharing it with us!!!
And then it was farewell to Cinnamon Bay Campground. And you know what I did. :( Ned and I donated a lot of our camping stuff to other campers...including our pots and pans, cooler, dishes, blankets...stuff that we used to store down on the island....stuff that we wont need any more. We decided that when we go back to the islands, we will be staying in a cottage...where the campground supplies them with real beds, sheets, towels, cooking stuff, and a frig along with a wonderful fan and electricity.

Now it is time to get re-organized in the trailer as we hit the road tomorrow (Jan 27—Thursday) for Cedar Key for 5 days. Its nice to be back “home” in our little home on wheels where the beds are just right!! Ah.....life is good!
